With an upcoming retirement, an opportunity has opened for a Feedmill Manager to lead our Christchurch Feedmill to step in and lead our Christchurch Feedmill into its next chapter.
In this role, you’ll take ownership of the safe, efficient, and compliant running of the Feedmill. You’ll provide clear leadership across site operations, translating organisational and Agriculture function priorities into effective on‑the‑ground delivery. Your focus will span Health & Safety, Quality, Cost, Service, Asset Management, and People Leadership—ensuring balanced performance and a culture of continuous improvement.
A day in the life of the role
- Lead site operations to deliver reliable, efficient, and consistent production aligned with service, quality, and customer expectations.
- Manage site performance within budget, driving cost control, efficiency, and improvement initiatives.
- Maintain audit‑ready systems that meet quality, biosecurity, MPI, and regulatory requirements.
- Ensure assets and infrastructure support safe, sustainable, and reliable operations.
- Champion a safe working environment and ensure compliance with all Health, Safety, and environmental standards.
- Lead, develop, and engage the site team, building capability and supporting performance and succession.
- Embed continuous improvement through effective use of data, systems, and standard operating practices.
What You’ll Bring
- A relevant tertiary qualification (engineering, food science, agriculture, operations management) or equivalent leadership experience
- Proven experience leading operations in manufacturing, processing, or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of Health & Safety legislation and compliance
- Experience leading teams in multi‑shift or complex, multi‑product operations.
- Confident decision‑making, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Strong operational and financial acumen
- Experience in feedmilling, animal nutrition, or related manufacturing environments
- Working knowledge of manufacturing processes and quality systems
