Tegel, one of New Zealand’s most trusted and recognised food brands, is offering a rare opportunity to manage a well-established Southland territory on a part-time basis (Tuesday–Thursday). This role combines commercial ownership and performance accountability with the flexibility to enjoy more of what Southland has to offer.

Reporting to the National Field Sales Manager, this role offers the opportunity to manage and grow a well-established retail portfolio while identifying new opportunities for expansion. If you enjoy autonomy, customer engagement, and seeing the direct impact of your efforts — this role delivers all three.

What You’ll Be Doing

You’ll take full ownership of a defined FMCG retail portfolio across Dunedin, Queenstown, Oamaru, Invercargill, and nearby regions with clear accountability for growth and profitability.

Your focus will include:

  • Delivering and exceeding agreed sales targets
  • Managing structured call cycles, retail and Foodservice relationships
  • Identifying new ranging opportunities and driving shelf growth
  • Using data insights (including Dunnhumby) to influence buying decisions
  • Managing promotional execution and co-op funding
  • Maintaining accurate reporting and territory planning

Travel includes one overnight stay per month within the region and quarterly team meetings in Auckland.

Who This Role Is Ideal For

This opportunity suits an experienced FMCG sales professional who:

  • Has 3–5 years’ FMCG sales experience
  • Thrives on strong customer relationship, communication and negotiation skills
  • Is commercially sharp and confident using data
  • Possesses excellent time management and territory planning capability
  • Has got Analytical confidence with intermediate Excel skills
  • Wants meaningful work without a full-time schedule
